When a couple books you before they’re engaged, not only are you so flattered, but you know these two are ecstatic to get hitched.
Britt and Mark have an awesome story, and we knew that from the first message we received from her. They met when they were 6 years old, and after years of living separately, the heartbreak of dating and breaking up, their story took a turn: “After a year and a half of brokenness and lots and lots of grace, I still couldn’t move forward without aching for Mark and his wisdom, determination, and undeniable desire to serve Jesus. I swallowed a lot of pride when asking him after almost two years if it was too late to reconnect and reconsider. I placed all my hope and assurance in God’s goodness, ready to accept Mark’s decision. I have never so tangibly experienced the Gospel and Christ’s even deeper love for us than [when Mark agreed to get back together and we continued our journey afresh]. I am thrilled to marry Mark for so many reasons. He absolutely compliments my character, points me to Jesus, and shares so many of my passions! [We balance each other out] – He is a dreamer, while I like to plan and make things happen. I’m goofy and he is thoughtful. He bakes, I cook. God put together a pretty great team.”
We’d agree — they are a great team. From their Engagement Session in the woods we got to know and love who they are individually and together. While it was obvious how Britt felt about Mark in our conversations with her, seeing the way he looked at her and how he loves to wrap her up in his arms was a perfect depiction of how we know he will protect and cherish his bride throughout their whole marriage. It was an honor to start our 2015 season off with them, the first weekend of the year! We loved capturing their stunning wedding in the beautiful new Nashville venue, The Cordelle. The clean design and romantic modern feel of the building fit so perfectly with the simple, chic feel Britt and Mark wanted for their day. The First Look with these two on cloud nine, the Christ-centered moody-lit evening ceremony, the romantic and lively dinner reception — it was all lovely and a joy to photograph.
