And so met two of the most darling people on the planet, and in their time, they fell in love, got engaged, and now are taking on the world as husband and wife.
Dee and Lucas both have such great energy that you can’t help but light up in their presence. Dee is the epitome of joy and kindness, grace and beauty. She has lived her life not without challenge, but with a true trust and delight in God, which has only made her more lovely. Lucas is full of charm and wit, and will have you cracking up instantly (wait til you see his pre-ceremony tub shoot!! haha!). His affection for Dee and love for God show his strong character more than anything. We could go on and on about the devotion and excitement these two have for each other, but of course, they say it best:
“I am hands down most excited about the every day, ordinary days and tasks with Luke. Since we have been long distance for the last few years, I’ve grown to truly treasure every single moment with him. It’s made me cherish those silly trips to the grocery store together, those yummy cups of coffee in the morning, and those Sunday mornings spent at church. I look forward to even just being able to watch TV shows together every week! I absolutely can’t wait for the ordinary with Luke because with him the ordinary is anything but that! It’s the absolute best. He was my best friend before we started dating three years ago, has continued to be my best friend throughout our whole relationship and will always be my best friend.”
“My favorite quality of Dee’s is her heart. I know every soon-to-be husband’s soon-to-be wife has the heart of Jesus blah blah blah…but Dee truly does. Her heart breaks for the needy and broken and rejoices for those who receive good news. Her heart not only gives me hope but it also constantly reminds me the value of humanity around us, she encourages me to love sacrificially, to love without thinking. She encourages me to live life in the way that would be a reflection of how Christ would live, and I think that’s probably the coolest quality there could be. …I knew I wanted to marry her the summer between our freshman and sophomore year. We had just been friends [so far] and during the break she went back home to Nashville and I was in Knoxville. By the end of summer I realized that there wasn’t a day that went by that I did not think of her at least once. I remember thinking to myself, well piss fire, I guess I love her.“
Their day was flawless. A tearful First Look, sun shining bright as they were married in the garden, full dance floor and cigar bar out back, and sparklers to send them off. We were proud and honored to be a part of it. We love you, Buchanan babes! Here’s to years and years of Fall Days and endless morning cups of coffee together. Here are some of our favorite captures from your big day, we hope you enjoy!
